The Tagital T7K and the Samsung Galaxy Tab E Lite Kids are both 7″ tablets designed for children so how do they compare? Both tablets have a screen resolution of 1024×600 pixels and both come with a protective silicone bumper intended to reduce the chance of damage if the tablet is dropped. The T7K’s case comes in more than one colour whilst the Tab E Lite’s case only comes in light green.
Both tablets are Android tablets with the T7K running 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box and the Tab E Lite Kids running the very slightly older 4.4 KitKat. Both tablets have access to Google Play.
Both the Tagital and Samsung tablets come with 8 gigabytes (GB) of internal memory and both also have memory card slots which will take memory cards up to 32 GB in size. Both also have quad core processors, WiFi and a micro USB port; the Tab E Lite also has Bluetooth.
The Tagital T7K has two cameras, a front facing 0.3 megapixel (MP) camera and a rear facing 2.0 MP camera. The Samsung in contrast only has a single camera, a rear facing one with 2.0 MP resolution. Each tablet has a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a single speaker.
Each tablet comes with parental controls. Those on the T7K are provided via the Zoodles app, which also provides access to educational content and games, and those on the Samsung are through the subscription based Samsung Kids, which provides access to educational content, apps, games and other material. The parental controls can also limit the time spent by children on their tablet and check their educational progress, although some of these are premium features for Zoodles.
Technically, the tablets are similar. Both have the same screen resolution, memory, processor type, memory card slot, speaker and micro USB port. The rear camera on the Samsung tablet has the same resolution as that on the T7K but it lacks a front facing camera. The Samsung does, however, come with Bluetooth whilst the T7K does not. Both have access to Google Play and both have parental controls, which either have premium features or need a subscription. The T7K’s Android version is very slightly newer out of the box than that on the Tab E Lite. Overall, both tablets are very similar but perhaps the biggest difference tends to be in the price. The Tagital T7K tends to be cheaper than the Samsung Tab E Lite Kids.
