The Dragon Touch X10 Kids and the Tagital 7″ T7K are both children’s tablets, but how do they compare? The X10 Kids is a 10.1″ tablet whilst the T7K is a more common 7″. The screen resolution of the X10 Kids is 1280×800 pixels whilst that of the T7K is 1024×600; larger tablets commonly have higher resolutions. Both tablets have protective cases intended to reduce the chance of damage if the tablet is dropped. Both cases come in several colours but the X10 Kids’ case has an integral stand.
Both tablets are Android tablets with the T7K running 4.4.2. KitKat out of the box and the X10 Kids running the newer 7.0 Nougat. Both tablets have access to Google Play.
The X10 Kids has 16 gigabytes (GB) of internal memory, double the 8 GB of the T7K. Each tablet has a memory card slot although the slot on the X10 Kids will take cards up to 64 GB in size compared to the 32 GB of the T7K’s slot. Both tablets have quad core processors but the X10 Kids has 2 GB of RAM. Each tablet has a micro USB port and WiFi; the X10 Kids also has a micro HDMI port, a DC charging socket and Bluetooth.
Each tablet comes with front and rear facing cameras. On each, the rear facing camera has a 2.0 megapixel (MP) resolution whilst the front facing camera on the X10 Kids is substantially better than that of the T7K, with a 2.0 MP resolution compared to 0.3 MP.
Both tablets come with third party parental controls. Those on the X10 Kids are provided by Kidoz whilst those on the T7K are provided by Zoodles. Each comes with some educational content linked to these, and Kidoz also has a curated app store where more content can be purchased. The X10 Kids also comes with some included Disney ebooks and audio books.
The X10 Kids exceeds the technical capabilities of the T7K in nearly every way, with a better front-facing camera, higher screen resolution (although such is common in larger tablets), more ports, more internal memory, the ability to take larger memory cards, Bluetooth and greater RAM. The battery life of the X10 Kids may be a bit inferior, as it isn’t great. The Dragon Touch X10 Kids is a technically superior tablet to the Tagital T7K.
