The Tagital T10K and the Dragon Touch X10 Kids are both 10.1″ tablets designed for children, so how do they compare? Each tablet is the same size and has a screen resolution of 1280×800 pixels. Each also comes with a protective case intended to reduce the chance of damage if the tablet is dropped. For both tablets, the case comes in different colours and has an integral stand, which allows the tablet to be propped up and watched without having to be held.
Both tablets are Android tablets. The T10K runs 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box whilst the X10 Kids runs the newer 7.0 Nougat. Both tablets come with Google Play preinstalled and access to the Android content network.
Both have 16 gigabytes (GB) of internal memory and both tablets also have a memory card slot, with that of the T10K taking cards up to 32 GB in size whilst the memory card slot of the X10 Kids will take cards up to 64 GB. Both tablets have quad core processors and come with WiFi, Bluetooth, a micro USB port and a DC charging port, with the X10 Kids also having a micro HDMI port.
Both tablets have front and rear facing cameras. The resolution of the T10K’s cameras hasn’t managed to be confirmed for certain, but it’s believed that the front-facing camera has a resolution of 0.3 megapixels (MP) and the rear facing camera a resolution of 2.0 MP. Both cameras on the X10 Kids have a resolution of 2.0 MP. The T10K has stereo speakers compared to the single speaker of the X10 Kids.
Each tablet comes with third party parental controls. Those on the T10K are through iWawa whilst those on the X10 Kids are through Kidoz. Each allows a parent to control what apps a child can use, what sites they can visit and how they can use the tablet, although the Kidoz controls appear to be more fully featured. Both tablets have an estimated battery life of five hours.
The two tablets are generally similar in most ways. Internal memory is the same but the X10 Kids runs a more recent version of Android and will take larger memory cards. The cameras are also probably better. The T10K does have stereo speakers, but this is the only place where it is definitely better than the X10 Kids. Overall, the tablets are very similar but the Dragon Touch X10 Kids has a slight technical superiority to the Tagital T10K.
