Ports are one way (a couple of others are WiFi and Bluetooth) in which tablets can communicate with peripherals, and have other items plugged into them, expanding their capabilities. They are therefore an important part of any tablet.
The Sprout Channel Cubby comes with an HDMI socket, allowing the output to be sent to other devices such as a television, a microSD card slot, used to expand the memory, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, so that everyone doesn’t have to listen to what the child is listening to and a micro USB port, used for charging and connecting to computers.
Also built into the case are two loudspeakers, volume controls and a reset button for the speakers, front and rear cameras, a power button and a microphone. The protective bumper allows access to all of these.
