The Dragon Touch X10 Kids and the Samsung Galaxy Tab E Lite Kids are both children’s tablets, so how do they compare? The first difference is with the size, as the X10 Kids is a 10.1″ tablet whilst the Samsung is a 7″ tablet. The X10 Kids has a higher resolution screen too, at 1280×800 pixels compared to 1024×600 for the Samsung; larger tablets often have higher resolution screens. Both come with protective cases; that of the X10 Kids has an integral stand and comes in several colours whilst that of the Samsung is only available in light green.
Both tablets are Android tablets with the X10 Kids running 7.0 Nougat compared to the older 4.4 KitKat of the Samsung. Both tablets have access to Google Play.
The X10 Kids has 16 gigabytes (GB) of internal memory, double the 8 GB of the Samsung. Each tablet has a memory card slot, with the X10 Kids taking cards up to 64 GB compared to the 32 GB of the Samsung. Both have quad core processors, WiFi, Bluetooth and a micro USB port but the X10 Kids also has a micro HDMI port and a DC charging socket, as well as 2 GB RAM compared to the 1 GB of the Tab E.
The X10 Kids has both front and rear facing cameras, each with a resolution of 2.0 megapixels (MP). In contrast, the Samsung has only a single, 2.0 MP rear-facing camera. Both have headphone jacks and single speakers.
Each tablet comes with parental controls, with those on the X10 Kids from Kidoz and those on the Tab E part of Samsung Kids, a subscriptions service that comes with three months included. Samsung Kids has some included educational and entertainment content and such is available from Kidoz.
The X10 Kids is a noticeably bigger tablet, but it has a better screen resolution, higher internal memory, more RAM and two cameras. The tablet also runs a newer version of Android and the parental controls may well be better. The battery life of the Samsung is better than the stated, fairly low, average battery life of the X10 Kids. The Dragon Touch X10 Kids is in almost every way a technically superior tablet to the Samsung Galaxy Tab E Lite Kids.
