Children being children, it is quite likely that they will drop their tablet at some points. Tablets are, by their very nature, rather vulnerable to being dropped – some more so than others – so a means of reducing the chance of a tablet being damaged if it is dropped is very important.
The nabi DreamTab does come with a protective silicone bumper. The bumper comes in one colour, nabi’s signature red, and has various cutaways for the ports and cameras. The bumper has increased protection at the corners, where tablets are most vulnerable to damage. It is also removable, so older children, who may be less likely to break the tablet, can have a device that looks more grown up.
Another area of vulnerability that should be considered is the screen itself, not from breaking but from scratches. Protective bumpers do not protect against scratches, so it can be a good idea to buy a cheap screen protector.
