Can Children Use Skype on the Orbo Jr?

Skype is an easy and cheap way of calling or video calling people over the internet, especially long distance and even those in other countries. If you have family members some distance away who your child would like to speak to, using a normal phone call can become quite expensive. Having Skype as an available option is therefore a good way of reducing these expenses without having to limit your child’s interaction with their grandparents, for example.

The Orbo Jr comes with Skype pre-loaded, so there is no need to download and install an app, as it will run Skype straight out of the box. The tablet has a front facing camera and stereo sound, making talking or even video messaging easy to do. The calls can even be listened to using headphones plugged into the external jack, for increased privacy and noise reduction, or using external speakers to make it easier for others to join in with the call.
