Games are rarely stated to be a primary reason for purchasing a tablet for a child, but they are often used as a secondary reason, especially as a reward.
The LeapPad Ultimate is not an Android tablet and doesn’t have access to app stores such as Google Play. The only content that can be downloaded is from LeapFrog’s App Center. Cartridge-based content can also be used.
However, the LeapPad Ultimate is primarily intended as an educational tablet. Although there is content available that can be classed as games, these games are educational in nature. Everything is intended to help with a child’s education.
Traditional and popular games cannot be installed on the Ultimate, only that which is available from LeapFrog. In addition, this content tends to be on the expensive side, compared to the price of apps for other systems, which are often free.
