The Kindle Fire Kids Edition HD6 cannot directly access Netflix without the parent installing it, by using a parental account to bypass the parental controls and adding the Netflix app from Amazon’s own site or the Appstore. A similar condition applies to the Hulu app, where Hulu can be watched. Apps installed in this way can be added to a FreeTime account.
The Kids Edition does come with one year’s unlimited subscription to Amazon FreeTime, which includes a selection of hand-curated television and films suitable for children aged 3-10.
This means that children will not have access to anything other than what you permit, and cannot start racking up bills on their own.
