iRulu BabyPad Y1The iRulu BabyPad Y1 and the Orbo Jr are both 7″ Android tablets aimed at children. Both screens are 7″, but the resolution of the Y1’s is 800×400 pixels whilst that of the Orbo is 1024×600. Both tablet’s screens are five point multi-touch. The Y1 runs Android 4.2.2 KitKat and the Orbo 4.1.2 KitKat.

The internal memory of the iRulu tablet is 8GB, whilst that of the Orbo is 4GB. Both tablets have expansion slots, allowing the memory to be increased; for the Y1 it can be increased to 32GB whilst the Orbo Jr can be increased by 32GB.

Both tablets have a front facing and a rear facing camera. The two cameras on the Y1 are 0.3 Megapixel (MP), whilst on the Orbo Jr has a 1.3MP front facing camera and a 2.0MP rear facing one. The Y1 and the Orbo Jr both have twin speakers and a headphone jack, as well as WiFi.

The Orbo Jr has a gel case for the tablet, whilst the BabyPad Y1’s case is built into the tablet itself, with strengthened corners and certified materials.

Both can access the Google Play Store, and the BabyPad can also use the Irulu Store, for Android apps. The parental controls are stronger on the Y1, as children only have access to Children Mode without a password. In parental mode, the Y1 functions like a normal Android tablet, but the content that can be accessed and the time spent using the tablet can be limited in Children Mode on it.
