Tablet Comparison: LeapPad Ultra vs InnoTab 3

LeapPad UltraVTech’s InnoTab 3, like LeapFrog’s LeapPad Ultra, is an educational tablet. Both are aimed at 3-9 year old children.

The LeapPad Ultra has a substantially larger screen, being 7″ to the InnoTab’s 4.3″. The touch screen of the Ultra is probably more sensitive than that of the InnoTab, but both can be used with a stylus.

The internal memory of the InnoTab 3 is only 2GB, whilst the Ultra’s is 8GB; however, the InnoTab 3 does have a microSD card reader which can be sued to expand the available memory.

The InnoTab has a 2MP camera, the direction of which can be adjusted, but the Ultra has two fixed 2MP cameras, one on the front and one on the rear.

Both devices can download additional apps from the appropriate company’s store, and can be connected to a computer using a USB cable.

The InnoTab 3 requires batteries to use, but does come with a mains adapter, whilst the Ultra has a built-in rechargeable battery.

The LeapPad Ultra comes with WiFi, enabling internet connectivity and the ability to play peer-to-peer games, whilst the InnoTab 3 does not.

The LeapPad Ultra is, in general, a more advanced educational tablet with more features.
