Is the LeapPad Platinum an Android Tablet?

The Android operating system is one of the two largest systems found on tablets. However, the LeapPad Platinum does not use this, nor does it use the other major system, Apple’s iOS.

Instead, the Platinum is built around LeapFrog’s own custom base. This means that the tablet has some of the strongest parental controls around; however, it also means that the tablet does not have the flexibility that could be found with those based around an Android system.

As a result of this, the Platinum tablet can only be used with the apps, games and content that can be purchased from LeapFrog, rather than any that can be obtained from various different app stores.
