Is the InnoTab MAX an Android Tablet?

Android is one of the most important platforms for running tablets on, and children’s tablets are in two main categories – those that work on an Android base (including pure Android tablets) and those that run on a custom made system.

The InnoTab MAX is a tablet designed around an Android base, running 4.2.2, although one that has been modified. It doesn’t have the standard Android interface common to many tablets, but instead has one that has been custom designed for children.

With it being designed on an Android base it does have access to Android apps, although the ones that are available are only those that have been approved for children’s use by VTech, so your child will not have access to the full Android app ecosystem.
