Which is Better, the Samsung Galaxy Tab E Lite Kids or the Kurio 7S?

Samsung Galaxy Tab E Lite KidsThe Samsung Galaxy Tab E Lite Kids and the Kurio 7S are both 7″ tablets running Android that are designed for children, so what are the differences between the two?

Each tablet’s 7″ touchscreen has a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. Each also comes with a protective bumper intended to reduce the chance of damage if the tablet is dropped, although that of the 7S comes in different colours whilst that of the Samsung only comes in pale green.

Out of the box, the 7S runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean whilst the Samsung runs the slightly more up to date 4.4 Kitkat. Each also has access to the full range of Android apps available, at least for adults.

Both tablets come with 8 gigabytes (GB) of internal memory and both also come with a micro SD memory card slot, which allows the use of memory cards up to 32 GB in size. The Samsung tablet has a more powerful quad core processor whilst that of the 7S is only dual core.

The Samsung tablet has a single speaker whilst the Kurio has stereo. Both also come with a headphone jack and an integral microphone, as well as a micro USB connector for recharging and connecting to other devices. Each tablet comes with WiFi, but the Samsung also comes with Bluetooth.

The Samsung tablet only comes with a single, rear facing 2.0 megapixel (MP) camera, whilst the 7S has two, a rear facing 2.1 MP and a front facing 0.3 MP.

Both tablets come with parental controls, those on the 7S provided by Kurio and those on the Samsung by Samsung itself, although these appear to be tied into the Samsung Kids subscription service to a degree.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab E Lite Kids is similar to or more powerful than the Kurio 7S in most ways, with the exception of the speaker and camera, although it does also tend to be more expensive as well. The battery life may also be superior as well, although all battery life is dependent on how the tablet is used.
