Today’s children expect to be able to take their own pictures and videos with their tablets, so whether a tablet has one, or more, cameras, and what quality they are is becoming increasingly important.
The LeapPad Platinum comes with two cameras, one on the front and one on the rear. Both cameras are 2 megapixels (MP) in resolution; 2MP is a pretty standard level of resolution for a rear-facing camera, as most children’s tablets are in that range, usually at best 2.3MP, but it is high for a front-facing camera. Front-facing cameras are popular for such as video chatting. The cameras are also used by the Imagicards.
The cameras on the Platinum, thanks to the quality of the front-facing camera, are therefore above average in resolution when compared to the average children’s tablet.
